Introduction
This License Agreement ("Agreement") governs your use of MorseCodeText's Morse code translation, generation, audio, and decoding tools, and all related services available at morsecodetext.com. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.
This Agreement works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Please read all three documents before using our tools.
Definitions
For the purposes of this Agreement, the following definitions apply:
- "Service"The MorseCodeText website, tools, and related services for translating, generating, and decoding Morse code.
- "Software"Our translation logic, audio generation engine, code, and algorithms that power the Service.
- "Generated Content"The Morse code translations, decoded text, and audio produced by our Service when you use it.
- "User Content"Any text, code, or audio you input into our Service.
- "Commercial Use"Use for business purposes, profit generation, or commercial advantage of any kind.
- "Personal Use"Non-commercial use by an individual for their own private purposes.
Grant of License
3.1 Free Service License
Subject to the terms of this Agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use our Service for the following:

- • Use generated audio files in your own projects, videos, or content
- • Share translations and audio with others without restriction
- • Use output in puzzles, games, projects, or creative work, including for sale
✅ Learning & Reference Rights
- • Use our tools for amateur radio study and practice
- • Access our educational content and alphabet reference freely
- • Use the translator, generator, and decoder for academic projects
- • Reference our tools in classroom or self-study settings
3.2 Commercial Use of the Service Itself
The permissions above cover your use of translations, decoded text, and audio output. They do not extend to our Software, website, or tool logic. Integrating our tools into a paid product, building a competing service using our technology, or redistributing our Software commercially requires explicit written permission. Contact us via info@morsecodetext.com to discuss licensing terms.
License Restrictions
Under this Agreement, you may not do any of the following:

- • Reproduce or distribute our software or algorithms
- • Create derivative works based on our proprietary technology
- • Reverse engineer or decompile our software
- • Scrape or extract our reference content at scale
❌ Commercial Redistribution of the Service
- • Sell, rent, or sublicense our Service to third parties
- • Create competing services using our technology
- • Package our tools with other software commercially
- • Use our Service to provide paid translation services without permission
❌ Misrepresentation
- • Claim ownership of our software
- • Remove or modify copyright notices
- • Present our Service as your own creation
- • Use our branding or trademarks without permission
❌ Technical Abuse
- • Attempt to hack or disrupt our systems
- • Use automated tools to scrape our content excessively
- • Circumvent our security measures
- • Interfere with other users' access to our Service
Intellectual Property Rights
5.1 Our Proprietary Rights
We retain full ownership of our Software, website content, design, branding, and the translation/audio-timing logic that powers our Service.
5.2 Important: Morse Code Is Not Copyrightable
Morse code itself — the International Morse Code standard (ITU-R M.1677-1), its letter, number, and punctuation mappings, and the dot/dash system as a whole — is a public communication standard and cannot be owned or copyrighted by anyone. You have full rights to use any translation or audio generated by our Service for any purpose, personal or commercial, without attribution to us.
5.3 Your Content
You retain full ownership of any text or audio you input into our Service, and of the translations and audio it generates for you. We do not claim any rights over your input or output content. We process your input solely to deliver the requested translation and do not store or retain it beyond what is needed.

Warranties and Disclaimers
We provide our Service "as is" without warranties of any kind. Specifically, we make no guarantees regarding:
- Continuous or uninterrupted availability of the Service
- 100% accuracy of every translation or audio output in every scenario
- Suitability of output for professional, certified, or emergency communication
- Specific outcomes from using generated translations or audio in any downstream use
License Duration and Termination
Termination by You
You may terminate this License at any time by stopping use of our Service. No cancellation steps are required for the free tier since no account or payment is involved.
Termination by Us
We may terminate your access if you violate this Agreement, abuse our tools, engage in prohibited commercial use of the Service without permission, or violate applicable laws.
Upon termination, your right to use our Service ceases. However, any translations or audio you have already generated and saved are yours to keep and use freely — Morse code itself is not subject to this Agreement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MorseCodeText's total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (which is zero for free tier users).
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, inaccuracies in translation, outcomes from use of generated audio, or any consequence of relying on our output in a professional or safety-critical context.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
This License Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles — consistent with our Terms of Service.
We encourage resolving any licensing concerns informally first by contacting info@morsecodetext.com. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled on an individual basis and not as part of a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Special Provisions
Educational Use
Academic institutions and educators may use our Service freely for classroom instruction and research. Citation is appreciated but not required for Morse code translations themselves.
Amateur Radio Community
Ham radio operators and licensing students may use our tools freely for study and practice. We welcome feedback from the amateur radio community to improve accuracy.
Puzzle & Game Designers
Escape room designers, game developers, and content creators may use generated Morse code and audio in commercial projects without needing separate permission.
Entire Agreement & Severability
- Entire Agreement: This License Agreement, together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitutes the complete agreement regarding your use of our Service.
- Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Updates to This Agreement
We may update this License Agreement from time to time. For material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically. If you disagree with a material change, your remedy is to stop using the Service.
